WHAT IS ANARAA?
A National Association of Recovered Addicts and Alcoholics
ANARAA is a fellowship of men and women who seek recovery from drug addiction or alcoholism.
How do you know if you have recovered?
Ask yourself these simple questions:
1) Are you safe and protected from drugs and alcohol?
2) Are you happy, joyous and free?
3) Have you had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps?
It is our great hope that all those who have yet to find a new freedom will find it here; by tracing exactly the same path of recovery that was blazed by the earliest members of AA and the founding members of NA.
This program of recovery is neither new nor better than the 12 steps of AA; it is simply a stricter adherence to those guidelines.
We believe that the progression of addiction is so advanced in some individuals, that the amount of step work, service, and meeting attendance must be doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled that of most other addicts and alcoholics. This progression must be caught and surpassed by recovery! It is that simple. The progression we are speaking of may not have any bearing on the amount you used, but it is usually in direct proportion to the amount of control you have lost in managing your life.
Our main purpose is to be of maximum service to God and others; especially alcoholics and addicts. We welcome all alcoholics and addicts – focusing on recovery, rather than what you used.
The only requirement for membership is an honest desire to stop using and/or drinking and to do the steps with an ANARAA MEMBER.
